Yasmin Khan

I am a multidisciplinary curator with expertise in cross-pollinating art, science, and cultural heritage to produce innovative content. I have over 20 years of grassroots experience spearheading high-impact projects and programmes with a social purpose. I enjoy collaborating with artists, museums, and festivals to co-create transformative exhibitions and visitor experiences through my cultural consultancy, Covalent Creatives.

I qualified as an accredited Relational Dynamics coach during my Clore Leadership Fellowship in 2012. My holistic coaching practice centres on RD1st’s goal-focused methodology. I endeavour to empower clients to clarify their thinking and perform at their best with wellbeing at the core.

Over the last decade, I’ve coached CEO’s, boards, and aspiring senior leaders to become more confident and resilient. As an accredited ILM Action Learning Set facilitator, I’m adept at moderating focus groups and delivering personalised training workshops for emerging cultural leaders on strategic themes such as navigating change.

I’m fortunate to have been involved with the inception of Coaching for Creatives as part of its inaugural pool of coaches since its pilot phase in 2021. I’ve supported its ongoing tailored programmes including ‘Creative Lives’, ‘Culture Collective’, and ‘Refreshing your Creative Practice’ which provides subsidised coaching for creative industry professionals based in Scotland. I’ve had the pleasure to coach artistic directors, theatre-makers, creative writers, and independent portfolio workers.

Being an ongoing member of the Coaching for Creatives community, I regularly have confidential review sessions with a certified coaching supervisor to enhance my professional practice.

Testimonials:

“The coaching with Yasmin exceeded all my expectations and led to a substantial shift in the way I was thinking about my career and my options. Yasmin intuitively understood where I was coming from, and her open and adaptive approach allowed our sessions to develop as I needed. Throughout the coaching I started to feel more energised and aware, and I now feel more hopeful than I have in years. Thank you, Yasmin!” Helen Sedgwick, Author of literary fiction based in the Scottish Highlands

“After coming out of the pandemic, Yasmin really helped me to find focus, purpose and to set appropriate goals for myself. She is a really good listener and is great at ‘reframing’ what I’ve just said so I can digest how I’m progressing and developing.” Emma Stewart-Jones, Culture Collective Project Manager, Glasgow

“My coaching sessions with Yasmin were extremely productive in furthering my development within my profession and organisation. Yasmin responded quickly and effectively in each session by using a variety of tools and approaches to explore issues. I left each session feeling resolved and invigorated with a plan to move forward. Yasmin was kind, generous, engaging and personable. It felt great to be coached by someone who was rooting for me and that helped to improve my self-confidence and self-esteem after a difficult year.“ Viviane Hullin, Artistic Producer, Tron Theatre, Glasgow

“Yasmin coached me over five sessions when I was about to begin a major change and restructure process in my company. The sessions were very important in helping me to get some perspective and objectivity on the complicated project I needed to deliver, and (importantly) in helping me gather the personal resilience I needed to support me in leading the change process. I referred back to my notes and our coaching sessions as ‘ballast’ during that project. Yasmin is a wonderful coach – a consummate professional and a delight to work with.”
