Coaching support for mid-career writers

Refreshing Your Practice is a partnership between Coaching for Creatives and Creative Scotland’s Literature Team. It aims to introduce a different approach to boosting resilience and confidence in managing a professional career as a writer. We hope it will offer the eight writers taking part a supportive environment to think through their next steps with their work, both as individuals and as part of a group of their peers.

The programme is supported by the National Lottery through Creative Scotland. The programme will run between July 2023 and December 2023. It will support 8 mid-career writers based in Scotland through:

  • 5 hours of confidential one-to-one coaching with an accredited coach (via Zoom/telephone)

  • 2 network development sessions as a group (via Zoom)

  • Two optional informal meet-ups (one in person, one on Zoom)

  • A stipend of £50 per writer is available for each of the network development sessions.

We also have a separate budget to support access costs, and will endeavour to make any reasonable adjustments to meet individual access needs.

My coaching has been absolutely transformative - I have made so much progress in navigating work/life boundaries and re-evaluating my goals and priorities. My sessions were empowering and mindful, I felt so comfortable with my coach and so supported by her.
