Dynamic Changes: Two Women Embark on a Journey to Join Community of Coaching

A new social enterprise is making a stride towards diversity, inclusion, and empowerment by supporting two experienced women to train as accredited coaches. With a shared vision of fostering growth, resilience, and innovation Nailah King and Tabi Mudaliar are stepping up to an opportunity to create a more representation coaching community and support to individuals within creative networks.

Nailah and Tabi are both accomplished artists and creators in their own right and applied to the Coaching for Creatives Dynamic Coaches programme as they recognised the immense potential within creative communities to effect positive change. United by their passion for creativity and their dedication to uplifting underrepresented voices, they are now gearing up to train as accredited coaches.

Tabi says “Within my roles in Scotland’s creative sector I’m coaching people all the time, to help them get the best out of their own creative practices and cultural projects. This course will develop my existing skills and provide new methodologies I can apply to my work.

The dynamic duo brings to the coaching arena a wealth of diverse perspectives and life experiences. Having navigated through challenges and triumphs as women of colour, they intimately understand the unique obstacles that can arise within creative spaces. By focusing on personal growth, confidence building, and skill enhancement, they aim to empower their clients to unlock their full creative potential.

Coaching for Creatives founder Lindsay Dunbar believes in the power of representation and coaching to break down barriers and strengthen the creative sector. She says, “We have a great community of coaches but it’s not representative of our creative sector in Scotland. I want everyone to be able to access coaching support and finding a coach you connect with is part of that process. I’m delighted Tabi and Nailah will be available to support people to access coaching and improve our sector as a result.”

Coaching for Creatives aims to make coaching accessible to creatives through one to one coaching, packages of support aimed at organisations and providing opportunities for training. Recently, they announced a new programme of support for 10 mid-career writers. This young but growing company is playing a significant role in supporting the well-being and productivity of the creative industries across the U.K.
